Cursed?
some may say that this year's Olympics are cursed. Why? Well, because of the deaths that have been happening. It all started with the death of Nodar, the Luger, who died before the Olympics even officially began. Another was the death of the skater's mom, who flew over to meet her, but tragically died. Also there was a death on the highway when someone, obviously from another country, was driving and on a long spinning turn got caught up on the sides of the road. Eventually had a head on collision with another car. So as you can see, these olympics have brought around quite a few deaths, but what we need to do is look forward, and hope the future is bright. We have to do this while making sure we don't totally forget about the different people who have died. :( > :)
Gold medal?
Canada's women hockey team are currently in the gold medal game against the US.
So far it is 0-0 in the first period
Goal Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes, come on keep it up girls
Yes another goal for canada, and guess who, Poulin strikes again
I can almost ssee the gold, keep it up!!!!!
WE have Won it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we just got back at the united states with are women's team beating them and shutting them out. 2-0 Our women's team played really well, with saves from the goalie and a nice double for Poulin to seal the deal. I wonder how she might feel, ecstatic to say the least. But on the other hand, those americans are looking pretty sad. The players are crying, the goalie as well. Thisis a crushing blow, it must hurt to lose in the finals, they lose out on the gold medal, but they should not fret, they did well.
Now its up to the men's hockey team to keep it up. They have to face slovakia tomorrow in the Semis and if they do, they verse the winner of United States vs. Norway. We are hoping to face the americans again and complete a double. They have already beaten our men's team, but the next time they won't be so lucky.
What a day it must be for Hayley Wickenheiser, captaining her country to another gold medal.
In other news canada is bringing in the medals. They are still no match for the Americans, but we can still say with pride wee can beat them in hockey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the finals the twenty were cut down to the top three. With the top 2 staying the same. The Bronze was given to Bahrke Shannon from the U.S, silver to Heil Jennifer from Canada!!, and gold was given to Kearney Hannah.
So far in the men's single luge, 38 people have went down. And run 3 and four will be held on valentines day.
For the ladies 500m - heats 16 people have qualified. And for the ladies 3000 m relay semifinal 8 countries have qualified either for final a or final b. When Canada and China were going it was amazing. To see how these women skate, personally i know skating is all that easy, but when they were out there skating it was utterly fantastic.
The final competition, short track men's 1500m. The top three were Korea(GOLD), U.S.A(SILVER), and U.S.A(BRONZE).

DAY 1
Today, a busy day, a sad day with the death of a georgian luger named Nodar Kumaritashvili.
He was doing a test run early friday morning, it was his last turn in his final training run. While going aroung 90 miles per hour, he tilted his head forward, his last move. He lost control of his sled crashing into a wall. His body went airborne with his arms flailing at his sides, he crashed into an unpadded steel pole. It all lasted about 48.9 seconds, from start to crash. I send heartfelt condolences to his parents who might have watched on of the videos, and felt heart broken. All the best to them.
The mood is not as happy as it should but it is still a big moment for vancouver and Canada.
The opening ceeremony starting with fireworks, banging drums. And the games were officialy dedicated to Nodar Kumaritashvili.
A crowd of 60,000 people, are there. They begin by listening to "I believe".
They bring up 4 large totem poles and hear from the aboriginals. All the countries are now announced one by one. Beginning with Austria and ending with Canada.
